AMD vs INTEL

Are you buying a new PC and can not decide on the processor? While buying  a PC you might come across many words like Sockets, cores, clock speed, memory controllers, etc. Lets just ignore these words and just
see about the processing power of AMD and Intel processors.

Benchmarking

Ignoring the Intel Xenon processors we could see that the Intel Core i7-3970X @ 3.50GHz scored the most in the passmark benchmarking test and  none of the AMD processor except Opteron was able to achieve high scores. Most of the Intel i7 processors can perform better than AMD processors but i would recommend AMD processor if you know how to overclock.

Gaming

As you can see Intel i7 has better performs better in ArmaA while AMD performs better in Battlefield. So in some games Intel has the upper hand and in others AMD has the upper hand. If you are a hardcore gamer you can,t really say which is better but if are low on budget AMD is the better choice.

Video Encoding

The lower the score the better. the above image shows that the Intel i5 encodes the video in just 50secs while the AMD A10 takes 2 mins 54 seconds which almost triple the time taken by i5. So if you are a person who converts video a lot and edits videos Intel is the best choice for you.

Conclusion

Intel is the best in some aspects while AMD can perform better in other aspects. Therefore we really cant pick a winner between AMD and Intel, it depends on your needs and for what you use your PC.
